David Ladewig is the Director of Business Development for Manhattan Construction Company, a national construction services firm, where he oversees new business acquisitions, strategic account management, and serves as the company’s aerospace market SME.

David is a leading voice in the development of the commercial space ecosystem in Houston. He serves as Host of That Space Podcast, Aerospace Community Leader at the Ion Houston, where he co-hosts monthly NASA Tech Talks, and through his involvement on multiple aerospace committees throughout the region. If there is a space related event in Houston, you can be sure you will see David there!

He holds a BS in Architecture from Texas Tech University and a MS in Space Architecture from the University of Houston. During his graduate studies, he worked on conceptual Mars landers, lunar habitats, and wrote his thesis titled ‘Lunar Real Estate Development.’ He was one of nine students selected from the US to attend the inaugural Moscow Space Summer Intern Program sponsored by the Baker Institute of Public Policy at Rice University. A proud, native Texan, David had the opportunity to speak with cosmonauts onboard the ISS during the Space Shuttle’s final docking and led with “Howdy”! During this trip, he realized how critical international collaboration from the next generation of space leaders would be and since, has been working to make those connections happen.

David’s hobbies include golfing, traveling, Ironman triathlons, and staying “in the know” on anything space related. He enjoys spending time with his family and relaxing at the lake.
